After a years worth of chatter and testing, the Skunk2 Racing high performance intake manifold for the NA and NB Mazda Miata has arrived! The unique two-piece modular intake manifold has been designed to be a bolt-on replacement for the anemic OEM unit, incorporating a removable plenum lid that allows for easy disassembly, porting, and plenum volume changes through the use of our optional plenum spacers. The Skunk2 Racing Ultra Street Intake Manifold has undergone extensive in-house dyno testing and has shown consistent torque and horsepower gains on HOT N/A builds and supercharged/turbocharged set-ups!

Staggered double mounting holes on the flange enable fitment on both 1994-1997 and 1999-2005 heads (including 2004-2005 Mazdaspeed).

FEATURES:

• Modular 2-piece design with removable 1.8L plenum
• Tapered 10.00” long high-velocity runners with raised velocity stack entries
• Unique mounting flange fits NA & NB heads
• Generously cast runner walls for porting
• 68mm throttle body opening
• Eliminates obstructive VICS and VTCS butterflies on factory 1999-2000 and 2001-2005 manifolds
• Tapped with 1/8” NPT, 1/4” NPT and 10mm threads for accessories
• Includes throttle cable bracket

NOTICE: There have been reports related to the 4th runner making contact with the positive lead on the starter. Please double check the position of your starter lead and complete the install with your battery disconnected.  Adjustment of the throttle cable is necessary. If it’s not adjusted, your full throttle pedal position will strain the bracket, causing it to fail.

    Needs more fits

Posted by Dan on Oct 22nd 2019

The intake it’s self amazing. 2003 nb owner and fits solid no problems. The only thing is the giver you four fittings and two different sized plugs. The four vacuum fittings only fit the two front taped holes. Not the back three so you can hook up two front vacuum lines but have to buy two to three more vacuum fittings to fit all holes. Kind of a bummer. And for all you inspection cars. You pretty much are deleting the egr so just be aware of that to. But if those two thing don’t turn you off. Amazing product. You can buy the 1/4 vacuum fittings from any parts store not the end of the world.

Great addition to an N/A or Turbo car.

Great design, made for the addition of spacers if you desire to. The hardware could be upgraded to stainless easily as mine rusted shortly after install. the only issues I had were the fitment on an NA Miata, you must run an NB starter or you will hit the positive terminal and short out a few wires. I found out the hard way. it also helps to run with FAB9 and get the radium fuel rail too, it goes perfectly with the manifold and throttle body.

    Great so far

Posted by Gary on Dec 19th 2018

It was an easy install, and it looks great. I had a 1999 manifold on previously and I have yet to dyno this new manifold but by feel it seems to give more power up top, which I wanted. My previous stock throttle body from my 94 seemed to create a big vacuum leak with this manifold so I was forced to buy a skunk throttle body but now they pair up great.

    High quality

Bolts right up to my BP4W head, many options for vacuum, ports etc. Great investment into this turbo build. Exposes fuel rail to look amazing with a radium fuel rail.

    Skunk2 intake manifold

Good looking product! Seems lighter than the stock manifold. Sits much lower than the standard which makes it so much easier to get to the fuel rail and injectors.

    Highly recommended

Just about any Skunk2 product is fantastic. This manifold is no exception. I must I add, FINALLY, an intake manifold for the Miata is here!

The minor changes I would make are that some of the bolt holes go through to the plenum chamber (requiring a sealant / loctite of some kind on the bolt threads) and most of the manifold bolts use a 4mm Allen when a 5mm is available (meaning they are much easier to strip if you opt for the plenum spacer). Even with these two minor imperfections, the product is absolutely top shelf.

    Keep up the great work!
