Buy your dad a Fab9 GT Turbo System
Story time: One of our youthful-elderly customers had his son buy him a Fab9 GT Turbo System. This man has owned over a dozen Miata’s throughout his life and each time one of his kids was old enough to drive, it sounds like they got one of the hand-me-down Miata’s as their first car.
We usually get our turbo customers setup with a live tuning session when they wrap up the install... but despite an otherwise fantastic installation, Arthur couldn’t get the car to start. He called us and we connected remotely. We diagnosed the MAP sensor wasn’t working so I sent him a replacement and the snip-out of our instruction manual to help guide him. Still didn’t work so he handed it off to a local shop. They never figured it out.
Art randomly dropped in yesterday with the car on the trailer. 8 or so hour drive and we got the car running quickly enough to drive it off the flatbed. He installed the MAP sensor leads onto his Cam Angle Sensor wires. Honest enough mistake. The MAP wires are tucked behind the intake manifold. I spent the morning tuning his car and Damien installed a fuel pump while going over any mechanicals.
Every time I drive one of these simple turbo builds it makes me want to buy another one. This car is on 5psi and absolutely rips! He’s such a happy guy. Go buy your dad a turbo.
