Fab9 Custom Forced Induction Calibration

2006-2015 Mazda MX-5 Miata (NC)

When it comes to tuning the NC platform, experience matters.

Over the years, we've invested thousands of hours developing the NC chassis through extensive street testing, dyno development, and real-world customer vehicles. From mild supercharger setups to fully built turbocharged engines, we've calibrated virtually every combination imaginable.

Unlike generic "mail-order tunes," every calibration is developed specifically for your vehicle and your hardware to provide:

  • Maximum safe horsepower
  • Excellent drivability
  • OEM-like cold starts
  • Smooth idle quality
  • Consistent boost control
  • Proper fuel delivery
  • Reliable long-term operation

Our goal isn't simply to make a dyno number—it's to make your car perform exceptionally in every driving situation.

Why Fab9?

We believe we have more experience tuning the NC platform than any tuner in the world.

Not only have we calibrated countless customer vehicles, but we also engineer and manufacture performance hardware specifically for this chassis—including multiple in-house turbocharger systems. Because we understand how the hardware functions together, we can produce calibrations that maximize both performance and reliability.

Many shops tune vehicles.

We develop the platform.

What's Included

Every custom forced induction calibration includes:

  • Complete custom ECU calibration
  • Injector characterization
  • Fueling optimization
  • Ignition calibration
  • MAF calibration
  • MAP sensor configuration
  • Boost optimization
  • Cold start tuning
  • Idle tuning
  • Part-throttle drivability refinement
  • Wide Open Throttle optimization
  • Datalog review and revisions
  • Calibration updates until the combination is properly sorted

Our process continues until the vehicle performs as intended.

Live Tuning Sessions

Some combinations are better suited for a live remote tuning session rather than traditional datalog revisions.

If we determine that your setup would benefit from a live session, there is no additional tuning fee. We'll simply schedule a session and work through the calibration in real time to achieve the best possible result.

Hardware Requirements

Proper calibration begins with proper hardware.

Depending on your combination, we may request:

  • Injector flow characterization data
  • Injector offset/dead time data
  • Fuel pressure information
  • MAP sensor specifications
  • MAF housing specifications

After reviewing your base calibration and initial logs, we'll determine whether your components are appropriate for use with the OEM ECU strategy.

If an injector lacks usable characterization data or cannot be accurately modeled within the factory ECU, we may recommend replacing it with a known, proven injector that delivers superior results.

Likewise, proper MAP sensors and correctly sized MAF housings are critical for accurate airflow modeling and reliable engine operation.

The initial base map allows us to quickly identify these requirements and guide you toward the best solution.

Supported Configurations

This service is intended for virtually all forced induction NC Miata combinations, including:

  • Turbocharger systems
  • Supercharger systems
  • Stock engine builds
  • Forged engine builds
  • Pump gasoline
  • Flex Fuel/E85 (when applicable)
  • Upgraded injectors
  • Upgraded fuel systems
  • Custom intercooler systems
  • Custom intake systems

Our Tuning Philosophy

Power is easy.

Making a car drive like it should from the moment you start it until you reach redline requires significantly more effort.

We spend the time to ensure your calibration delivers:

  • Predictable throttle response
  • Smooth power delivery
  • Excellent drivability
  • Reliable operation
  • Confidence on both the street and track

Our reputation has been built by developing calibrations that customers can enjoy every day—not just for a single dyno pull.

Notice: The purchase of this calibration requires a vehicle that already has an ECUTEK license applied to it. If you've never had your vehicle calibrated we offer the hardware and license as well.
